Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. In yoga nidra the practitioner remains in a state of light concentration with four of his or her senses internalized, that is, withdrawn, and only the hearing still connects to the instructions.
Yoga nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. The practice of yoga relaxation has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. The autonomic symptoms of high anxiety such as headache, giddiness, chest pain, palpitations, sweating and abdominal pain respond well.
With this package, we will set up a consultation (over the phone, skype, or in person) to discuss your goals and other medical conditions which may benefit from the practice of yoga nidra. Following this consultation, a personalized Yoga Nidra Script will be written and an audio recording of this session will be recorded. All this will be emailed to you within two weeks of the consultation. The Audio Recording will be between 45-60 minutes. Additionally, a condensed version of the script and audio file will be created which is about 15-20 minutes long. Together, the two versions will enable you to practice Yoga Nidra whenever needed whether you have a shorter or longer period of free time.
