Welcome One and All!!!

With our official opening date having come this past week, we are so excited to welcome you into our new studio, Yoga Art Space! We wanted to present the first of our weekly blog posts to you with the theme of introducing a few of the special features about our studio.

First and foremost, we wish to speak about our community arts project, the Peacock Painting. This painting is hung in such a way so as to be one of the first things you see when you enter. Whenever you take a class with us, we invite you to dip your finger in the metallic paints below the painting and place a fingerprint thereon. For each student who attends a class with us, we will donate 1 cup of rice to help feed the hungry. Eventually when the peacock’s tail feathers are completed with fingerprints, we will hold a silent auction for this peacock and the proceeds will likewise go to this cause. This is one way in which we will be giving back to the community which has provided so much to us!

Speaking about what you can find at our studio, one of the most obvious is our great list of yoga classes and instructors! These classes range from calm Gentle Vinyasa, Candlelight, and Yin to dynamic Yoga for Strength, Intermediate Yoga, Buti Yoga, and Yang Yoga with everything (like Laughter Yoga) in between. Additionally, we have several special workshops this month including the following:

  • AcroYoga with Chris Filkins on Nov 25th 7-10pm: He is the premiere AcroYoga teacher in Los Angeles traveling to Albuquerque to visit family for Thanksgiving. We are lucky to have him teach a workshop while he is here!

  • Autumn Leaf Painting Workshop on Nov 11th 7-9pm: We will be formally ushering in the autumn by painting a beautiful Milky Way Galaxy on dried leafs.

  • Essential Oils and the Law of Attraction on Nov 27th 12:30-1:30pm: Noelle will be teaching about how essential oils can be used to help us attract our deepest desires into our lives.

  • Free Essential Oils 101 classes: November 12th, 19th, & 26th: 1:15-2:15pm: Learn what essential oils are and how you can use them to improve the quality of your life

To finish off, here are a few more reasons why to love our studio:

  • New Student Special available to all New Mexico residents new to our studio: First 30 days of Yoga for $30

  • Open Art Hours for a quiet place to create your art: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 4-8pm

  • A Café for beverage and snack needs during open hours and after yoga classes

  • Our facilities are solar powered

Additionally, in our ongoing efforts to help heal the great people of our community, we are seeking a massage therapist for our upstairs room. Let us know if you know if you are aware of someone who may be interested in the space!
